National HIV/AIDS Strategy
Coordinated by the White House Office of National AIDS Policy.
Strategy
President Obama committed to developing a National HIV/AIDS Strategy with three primary goals:
- Reducing the number of people who become infected with HIV;
- Increasing access to care and optimizing health outcomes for people living with HIV; and,
- Reducing HIV-related health disparities.
To accomplish these goals, we must achieve a more coordinated national response to the HIV epidemic.
The job of implementing the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, however, does not fall to the Federal Government alone, nor should it. Success will require the commitment of all parts of society, including State, tribal and local governments, businesses, faith communities, philanthropy, the scientific and medical communities, educational institutions, people living with HIV, and others. Implementation
The National HIV/AIDS Strategy demands unprecedented levels of coordination among Federal agencies, state and local government and community groups to achieve our goals. This plan outlines the steps the Federal Government will take to implement this strategy. Learn More.
